I have to admit that the stuff Jameson was saying starting with the second movie made me feel uneasy, because his lines just seem trite and too silly. JK Simmons of course is a great actor and his deliveries are a sight to behold, but his Jameson seems to me more like a caricature than a real person. I actually prefer Ed Asner's version. He seemed to be more human and dimensional.

Save some aspects, I feel this series of spider-man movies and superhero movies from this era in general were more accurate in regard to the vibe and feel the comics gave, translated into this acting. Yes at times it was cheesy but a lot of lines in comics are and that’s what makes them funny and entertaining! These days I feel like Hollywood tries to put too much emphasis on the realism aspect, trying to make it look, seem and feel like these could happen in our real world sort of thing.
